26 Fab pics of St Leonard's Hospice
When I started this business, I was very keen to adopt a local charity, and believe it's something every business large or small should do.
St Leonard's Hospice does amazing work in York, but their website was desperately in need of some new professional images, so I donated my time to provide them with a library of images they could use, and since then have documented events, PR opportunities, conferences, open days, fashion shows and everything inbetween. The images have showcased the building, the staff, the huge fundraising efforts required, the volunteers, the food and even Lenny, their mascot.
Those images have been used on the website but also on social media, newsletters, advertisements, banners, vehicle livery, signage and in marketing material
As the Coronavirus pandemic takes hold though, charities across the UK are struggling to raise income as fundraising events get cancelled.
Despite this, work at St Leonard's Hospice carries on regardless. They only receive a small amount of funding from the NHS, the rest comes from fundraising.
So as the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge encourages people do run 2.6 miles, or do 26 press ups, I thought I'd do my bit to show my support. The last time I did a full marathon, it was in a wrapper, so here's what I do best - 26* pictures of the hospice in action:
St Leonard's does an incredible amount for the community - not only looking after patients, but also their families, and as well as the hospice itself, they operate an invaluable Hospice at Home service. Their fundraising events not only raise much needed cash, but they also bring people together, whether it's at a fashion show, a 'Strictly' dancing event or a more sombre lighting of candles, the positive effect on the wider community is huge.
I've been photographing for the hospice for several years. I photograph headshots, fundraising events, and the work that the hospice does, and my photographs feature on their website, fundraising leaflets, social media and press releases.
*They're a great team to work with so 26 pictures doesn't even start to tell the story. - here's some more!
At the heart of what the hospice does is patient care...
